No Surprises

"This poor fallen world in which we live oft appears to us as a labyrinth, a maze, a puzzle, full of unexpected surprises, deep disappointments, sudden setbacks, and paralyzing uncertainties. Yet, it is so only from our temporal perspective. With God, and for the purposes of His Kingdom and His Covenant, there are no surprises. He is Lord. And He is Lord over all. Therefore, I may freely yield my all and all, regardless of my apparent circumstances." Jan Amos Comenius

No surprises with God! What a great comfort! But the "freely yielding" aspect, now that's the hard part, isn't it?

Great quote. Also, we can be encouraged from the vantage point of the Day of Judgment. I recently read Edwards on the subject, "This world is a world of confusion; it hath been filled with irregularity and confusion ever since the fall ... [But on that day] He will in an open, public manner, the whole world being present, rectify all these disorders."
